Drink like a Viking with this striking carved Valknut drinking horn.

Made from natural horn, each piece has its own unique colouring, shape and markings, giving every horn an individual character. The exterior features a carved Valknut, an ancient Norse symbol formed from three interlocking triangles and closely associated with Viking Age imagery and mythology.

Holding approximately 400ml or more, this is a generously sized drinking horn, perfect for mead, ale, cider or your favourite cold drink. Ideal for Viking reenactment, medieval festivals, feasting halls, LARP or simply adding a little Norse style to your next gathering.

As this is a natural horn product, size, colour, shape and capacity will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Capacity: Approx. 400ml or more
Material:
Natural horn
Design:
Carved Valknut

This horn has been cleaned and polished prior to sale. If you receive a horn that has not been properly cleaned, please contact us and we will be happy to replace it. Please be aware that minor tooling or scuff marks may occasionally be present.

The horn pictured is a fair representation of the product you will receive. However, as horn is a natural material, every piece is unique. Your horn may be lighter or darker than the one shown and will have its own individual markings, colouring and shape.

We recommend applying a coating of beeswax or another food-grade sealant before use. We do not seal our horns with lacquer, as many re-enactors prefer the more traditional approach of using genuine beeswax.

Beeswax provides a natural protective coating and, unlike synthetic lacquer, is biodegradable. Both wax and lacquer coatings can eventually wear, crack or flake with use, but beeswax will naturally break down without leaving plastic-based residue in the environment.

The horn can be used without an additional coating, however the natural surface may absorb residues from some drinks over time. Applying and periodically renewing a food-grade coating will help protect the horn and make it easier to keep clean.

See our video for tips on how to wax coat a horn

Beeswax is available on this site or we can do it for you.
