Build your own maille armour with these flat steel maille rings and their rivets, sold in lots of 500. These rings are suitable for re-enactment and steel weapon sparring and training.

Im making an aventail for my helm for SCA combat. I cut ~2mm off the tips of the rivets as they are a little too long. I make up 20-50 single rings and join them by using an open ring, slightly bending them to open them using pliers. Closing them back up after linking them together. A pair of needle nose pliers has a set of jaws just above the handle which is a great setter for the rivet. I put the rivet through the hole and squeeze the rivet in the jaws to flatten it. Simple process for a really nice piece of armour.
